Description:"Ege Bamyasi" is a landmark album by the influential German band Can, here presented in the CD format by the renowned label Mute. Originally released in the early 1970s, the record is widely regarded as one of the defining works of experimental rock and so-called "Krautrock," blending hypnotic grooves, improvisation, and an adventurous studio approach. Rhythmic, repetitive drum patterns, elastic bass lines and unconventional song structures create a trance-like flow that still sounds strikingly modern. Tracks move between driving, almost funk-like momentum and atmospheric, exploratory passages, making this CD an immersive listening experience from beginning to end. The sound is raw yet meticulously sculpted, inviting the listener to discover new details with every spin.

Can, formed in Cologne, became one of the most innovative bands of their era, leaving a deep mark on alternative, electronic and experimental music worldwide. Their work has been cited as an influence by countless artists across post-punk, indie rock, electronica and beyond. "Ege Bamyasi" in particular is often highlighted in the band's discography for its combination of accessibility and experimentation, and for its enduring impact on generations of musicians. The band's legacy rests on their fearless search for new sounds and on albums that have become key reference points in modern music history.

This edition is released by Mute, a label known for its commitment to forward-thinking and pioneering artists. Since its beginnings, Mute has stood for musical innovation and has worked with some of the most important names in alternative, electronic and experimental music. The label is respected for high production standards and carefully curated releases that often bring classic and cult albums to new audiences. With "Ege Bamyasi" on CD, Mute once again underlines its role as a guardian and promoter of influential, boundary-pushing music.

Eugene S. - 14/Jul/2023 5 of 5 Stars!
The third studio album by German krautrock band Can, originally released as an LP in 1972. Ege Bamyası has received considerable critical acclaim since its release. British music weekly Melody Maker wrote: "Can are without doubt the most talented and most consistent experimental rock band in Europe, England included.

Great sound, any audiophile would be pleased with it. A wonderful album and a close to Can’s masterpiece Tago Mago.

The group’s fourth album demonstrates that Holger Shukai associates decided to abandon all sorts of dubious mushrooms and switched to a healthy vegetarian diet with a high vitamin content. This album is much more restrained, neat and more musical than the previous one (this does not mean worse / better, please note). The psychedelic unbridled gives way to more calm, monotonous compositions that spread throughout your body with pleasant jazz warmth. After nightmarish images and grandiose visions of Tago Mago, this calm album seems at first less expressive, but over time it turns out to be more conducive to repeated auditions. There is also an interesting (in the context of the experiments of fellow countrymen Kraftwerk) innovation - a drum machine on the Spoon. The only thing I can’t take here yet is the 10-minute “Soup”, which turned out to be some kind of completely inedible, falling out of the general, very digestible menu. Very mature and interesting CD.
