This version of Cassle comes as a 1xCD. - Formed in the late '70's it's not a surprise that Cassle has inherited those influences, in particular Deep Purple, Rush, and Judas Priest. Also since their original EP wasn't released until 1983, they definitely have a lot of Iron Maiden and Saxon in their sound as well. I don't think I'd call Cassle a metal band though (even though their pictures look like they are). They are probably more of a Progressive Rock band with '80's metal influences. This is some unique music, very off-beat, dreamy, and moody with strange vocals. Their career was very short lived and some of the unreleased songs on here are arguably just as strong as the original EP if not better. This is basically a collection of all their essential material with an nice thick booklet for your enjoyment.Tracks 1-4 recorded and mixed in January 1983 by Larry Forkner in Hollywood, CA.
Track 5 recorded and mixed in December 1982 by Larry Forkner in Hollywood, CA. Performed as Revenge.
Tracks 6-7 recorded and mixed in 1983 by David Johnson in Hermosa Beach, CA in the rehearsal studio.
Tracks 8-9 recorded live in 1983 at Radio City, Anaheim.
Track 10 recorded and mixed in August of 1980 by Charlie Thompson in Hollywood, CA. Performed as Miraaj.
Track 11 is complete voice over session in 1983 for the Cassle demo tape at WoodHolly Productions in Hollywood, CA.
All tracks remastered in May 2010 by Colin Davis, Imperial Mastering, Concord, CA.
Live tracks remixed by Russ Johnson, Hollywood, CA.
