Irmin Schmidt became internationally known as a founding member of CAN, one of the most influential experimental rock bands to emerge from Germany. Beyond his work with CAN, Schmidt has built a substantial solo career, composing for film, television and theatre and releasing a number of albums in which he explores orchestral writing, piano works and electronic soundscapes.
