Description:On his brand new work James Brandon Lewis leads an exceptional inter-generational ensemble assembled specifically for the project, feat. Kirk Knuffke: cornet; William Parker: bass, gimbri; Chris Hoffman: cello; Chad Taylor: drums, mbira. An evocative appreciation of the life & legacy of George Washington Carver, the album speaks eloquently to the forever-evolving continuum of the jazz tradition. -
Housed in a digipak and includes a multi fold insert. Album is a tribute to George Washington Carver. Kelley?s liner notes discuss both the music and its connection to the life and contributions of Carver. Recorded, Mixed & Mastered by Jim Clouse in late 2020 at Park West Studios, Brooklyn, NY. Original drawings of Jesup Agricultural Wagon and botanicals by G.W. Carver. Special thanks to Dana R. Chandler at Tuskegee University. There is a misprint in the liner notes: the poem "Embedded seeds" is from 'Chemurgy', and the poem "Streams of tears" is from 'Fallen Flowers'.
