Pat Metheny Group is an American jazz fusion band that was formed in 1977. The group was founded and led by guitarist Pat Metheny, who is considered one of the most influential jazz musicians of his generation. Pat Metheny was born in 1954 in Missouri, and began playing guitar at a young age.
