| | Description: | Weihnachten 1914 an der Weltfront. Die britischen,
deutschen und französischen Truppen liegen sich schon seit
Monaten in einem tödlichen Kampf gegenüber. Nach der
anfänglichen Kriegsbegeisterung sind die Männer müde und
haben auf beiden Seiten nur einen Wunsch: Dass endlich
Schluss sein möge mit dem grausamen Töten!. Und so
ereignet sich ein kleines Wunder: Die einfachen Soldaten
auf beiden Seiten haben sich per Zettel und Zeichen
verständigt und einen inoffiziellen Waffenstillstand
verabredet: We not shoot, you not shoot!, so die Parole.
Und es funktioniert.
Als der deutsche Soldat und Tenor Sprink Stille Nacht
anstimmt, antworten die Franzosen und Engländer mit
Applaus. Man stellt Kerzen und Tannenbäume zwischen
Stacheldraht und Niemandsland. Soldaten, die gerade noch
alles taten, um sich gegenseitig auszulöschen, steigen aus
ihren Gräben, begraben gemeinsam im Niemandsland ihre
Toten, tauschen Geschenke aus und es kommt sogar zu einem
Fußballspiel. Aber die Verbrüderung mit dem Feind
alarmiert die Heeresleitungen, die umso härter darauf
reagieren... Erst 4 Jahre und fünfzehn Millionen Tote
später ist der Krieg zu Ende.
