Backed by the Clinch Mountain Boys and augmented with some bass vocals by Shelton Feazell and George Shuffler, Dr. Stanley handles almost all of the lead vocals himself and adds some interesting new songs to his already huge repertoire. Three powerful a cappella numbers- "Gone Away With a Friend," "The Day is Past and Gone," and "Waiting for Me"- are highlights on this collection featuring songs written by Earl Sykes and Coielle Church.Field recordings of Cortez D. Reece, southern West Virginia, 1949 -1953.
