| | Descripción: | Als Strafgefangener ins Zuchthaus von Wakefied, Arkansas,
eingeliefert, erlebt Brubaker die dortigen Missstände von
Terror und Korruption. Er gibt sich nach einer besonders
krassen Gewaltorgie zu erkennen, übernimmt sein Amt als
neuer Direktor, geht daran, den Knast zu reformieren und
menschenwürdige Zustände zu schaffen. Auf dem weiträumigen
Gefängnisgelände findet er ein Massengrab mit 200
ermordeten Häftlingen. Obwohl von einer ehrgeizigen
Politikerin gefördert, scheitert Brubaker, weil er keine
Kompromisse eingeht und wird entlassen.
