Neues vom Meister des Unvorhersehbaren. Squarepushers neues Album spielt mit der Magie des scheinbaren Zufalls und erhebt die Konfusion zur eklektrischen Ordnung moderner Großstadt-Agonie. Freunde des eingängig-linearen Mitsing-Stumpfsinns werden an diesem Album genauso scheitern, wie an allen Squarepusher-Platten vorher. Es gibt hier nämlich nichts Homogenes, kein Halm, an der sich die Harmonie-gestreichelte Seele festhalten, wo sie sich ausruhen könnte. „Do You Know Squarepusher“ verlangt dem Hörer viel ab, gibt ihm aber auch wieder etwas zurück. Dabei geht es hier nicht um Schmeicheleien, im Gegenteil. Man sträubt sich, reibt und windet sich unter dem Beatgewitter des Tom Jenkinson, doch es gibt kein Entrinnen. Hat man die Platte allerdings überstanden, macht sich eine wohlige, postkathartische Wärme im Körper breit, gepaart mit der herablassenden Selbstsicherheit eines Überlebenden. Eine Platte für Grenzgänger und Zeitgenossen, die gerne während der Rush-Hour bei Rot über die Ampel gehen. Spannend!
