Description:â??Friendly Firesâ?? was the debut album from the St Albans-three piece, Ed McFarlane, Edd Gibson and Jack Savidge. Featuring hit singles â??Jump In the Poolâ?? and â??Parisâ??, it was an era-defining record. It launched the band to huge critical and commercial success, nominated for The Mercury Prize and a Brit Award. The LP is now reissued for its 15th Anniversary on silver vinyl. Aeroplaneâ??s remix of Friendly Firesâ?? â??Parisâ?? has been out of print on vinyl for over a decade. A cover more than a remix, their version of Friendly Firesâ?? first big single was all over the radio waves when it was first released, surely due to its sweet female vocal provided by Au Revior Simone. Now reissued for its 15th Anniversary on gold vinyl, the 12â?ť also contains a remix by Justus Köhncke. -
One of the most exciting bands from the UK. Last year's super limited 7-inch PARIS was judged the single of the week in the both the NME and the Guardian for it's deft combination of clattering percussion and a blissed out, hum along hook. Other songs on this release contain driving punk funk grooves with unstoppable pop melodies, joyous vocals, wonky waltz-like rhythms and My Bloody Valentine atmospherics. It's all the most impressive when you consider the band recorded it themselves on a laptop.
Presented in a clear jewel case with an 8-page booklet. "Friendly Fires" is the energetic self-titled CD by the British band Friendly Fires, released by the renowned independent group XL / Beggars Group / Indigo. Musically, this album blends danceable indie rock with electronic elements, lush synth textures and infectious rhythms, resulting in a sound that feels both euphoric and atmospheric. Tight grooves, shimmering guitars and driving percussion create songs that are equally at home on the dance floor and in the headphones, with an emphasis on hooks that stay in your head long after listening. Lyrically, the record often circles around themes of nightlife, desire and emotional intensity, all carried by dynamic, soulful vocals and rich production. The album flows cohesively from track to track, with carefully arranged crescendos and melodic highlights that showcase the band's flair for combining pop accessibility with sophisticated arrangements.

As an artist, Friendly Fires made a name for themselves in the late 2000s with their distinctive mixture of indie, dance and electronic influences. They quickly became one of the most talked-about UK bands of their generation, supported by acclaimed performances at major festivals and tours across Europe and beyond. Their songs gained attention on alternative and indie charts, as well as from influential music media, helping the band build a reputation for high-energy live shows and a fresh, modern sound. This self-titled CD captures Friendly Fires at a pivotal point in their career, defining the style that would earn them a loyal fanbase and solidify their status as a key name in the indie-dance scene.

The CD format is ideal for listeners who value full, uncompressed album experiences, including coherent sequencing and carefully balanced sound. "Friendly Fires" invites repeated listening, revealing new details in the arrangements--from subtle electronic flourishes to layered harmonies and percussion accents. It is a compelling choice for fans of contemporary indie rock, dance-punk and electronic pop who are looking for an album that bridges genres without losing its identity. Whether discovered as a first introduction to the band or as a cherished addition to an existing collection, this CD offers a vibrant snapshot of a group at the height of their creative momentum.

The manufacturer XL / Beggars Group / Indigo stands for high-quality releases from the independent music sector and has been associated with numerous influential artists and trend-setting albums.
