| Description: | Jeff Tweedy first rose to prominence with Uncle Tupelo in the late '80s and early '90s, but with his own group, Wilco, he would step out from the shadow of that legendary Alt-Country group. During that time Tweedy worked in the studio with Beck and the Minus 5. Tweedy started writing for his own and in 2017 he presented his first proper solo album 'Together at Last'. Just one year later, Tweedy is ready to release his 2nd solo album 'Warm'. 'Warm' is a calm acoustic album, for the ones who like Kurt Vile. Jason Isbell & Ryan Adams. Dry, winking lyrics and warm guitar passages walk the line of wry humor without slipping a step toward sardonic. - 2018 release. Jeff Tweedy releases Warm, a solo album of all new material. Warm was produced and recorded entirely by Jeff at Chicago's now legendary studio, The Loft (with help from some of his usual collaborators - Spencer Tweedy, Glenn Kotche and Tom Schick). Warm follows the acoustic retrospective release, Together at Last (2017), and Wilco's 2016 album, Schmilco. The incredible liner notes for Warm were written by George Saunders. This album coincides with the release of Jeff's long-awaited memoir, Let's Go (So We Can Get Back): A Memoir of Recording and Discording with Wilco, Etc.© ? 2018 dBpm Records

Crystal Case printed - 'Disc Made In Mexico'"Warm" is an intimate and heartfelt solo album on CD by Jeff Tweedy, released by the renowned independent label Rykodisc. Known as the frontman of the influential band Wilco, Tweedy uses "Warm" to step into the spotlight with deeply personal songwriting, sparse arrangements and a warm, analogue-leaning sound that perfectly suits the CD format for focused home listening. Acoustic guitars, subtle electric textures and unobtrusive rhythm work together to create a reflective, late-night atmosphere, in which Tweedy's voice and lyrics remain always at the center.
Lyrically, "Warm" deals with themes such as family, vulnerability, memory and the search for inner balance. Tweedy writes with a rare mixture of clarity and tenderness; his songs feel like candid conversations, mixing melancholy with gentle humor and hope. Each track is carefully crafted, moving between folk, alternative rock and understated Americana, so the album works both as a cohesive narrative and as a collection of striking individual songs. The production is intentionally unpretentious: detailed enough to reward attentive listening, yet intimate enough to feel like a private performance in your living room.
As an artist, Jeff Tweedy has long been considered one of the key songwriters in contemporary rock and alternative music. With Wilco, he has released critically acclaimed albums that helped redefine the possibilities of indie rock and Americana, earning a loyal international following and numerous accolades. His work is often praised for combining classic songwriting with experimental touches and emotionally resonant lyrics. "Warm" distills these strengths into a more direct, personal statement, making it an essential listen for fans of thoughtful, timeless songwriting.
Rykodisc, the label behind this CD release, is known as one of the pioneering independent labels that helped shape the modern market for high-quality catalog and artist-driven releases. Over the years, Rykodisc has built a reputation for carefully curated editions, attention to sound quality and aesthetically consistent packaging. Their catalog spans influential artists and cult favorites, often with a focus on long-term artistic value rather than short-lived trends. With "Warm," Rykodisc once again underlines its commitment to artistically mature, enduring music that rewards repeated listening. |
