I listened to an albumman about ten times that way. In my opinion, the group did not return to roots as much as it opened a new chapter in its history. Indeed, the album turned out to be much heavier and fiercer than its predecessor, with the original time MtD is related by the presence of Fincher and Rosas at the starting positions, but the method of extracting cruelty from musical matter has changed a lot - the structures are different. Although the group is recognizable in attacking and bouts of fury, this cannot be taken away.
The album is not great, not significant, but timely and showing the group in the best light.
