Description:Nach einer langen Auszeit für den Großteil der ersten Hälfte der 2000er Jahre entschlossen sich Chris und Rich Robinson im Jahr 2005 zu einer Black Crowes Reunion. Bevor es damit allerdings richtig losging, gingen die Brüder 2006 unter dem Namen “Brothers of a Feather” auf Tour und veröffentlichten 2007 unter dem selben Namen ein Album. Das Album enthält die Highlights aus einem dreitätgigen Engagement im bekannten Club Roxy in Los Angeles. Brothers of a Feather unterscheiden sich von der wachsenden Liste an offiziellen Black Crowes-Ablegern durch ihre Intimität: die beiden Robinson Brüder alleine zu hören ist einzigartig und überraschend aufschlussreich. Es macht deutlich, dass sowohl Chris als auch Rich sensible Interpreten sein können, wenn sie sich auf die Basics beschränken. Doch obwohl hier of softe, fast folkige Momente darunter sind – inklusive tollen Covervbersionen von John Martyn's "Over the Hill", Rich's Solo Performance "Forgiven Song" und eine interessante Version von "Driving Wheel" – gibt es doch genügend Sand und gute Vibes wie beim tosenden Opener "Hosehead" und dem rockigen "Darling of the Underground Press." Brothers of a Feather sind vertraut, aber doch erfrischend in ihrem Ansatz. Nun gibt es das lange nicht mehr erhältliche Album als Reissue auf CD und LP. - FEATURING CHRIS & RICH ROBINSON
Double vinyl LP pressing. Reissue. Brothers Of A Feather: Live At The Roxy is a live album by Chris and Rich Robinson of The Black Crowes. It was released on July 10, 2007. The album featured two new songs, some old Black Crowes songs and some covers. The album is a compilation from several shows at the Roxy Theatre in Los Angeles, California recorded during the 2006 Brothers of a Feather tour. Most songs feature only one or two guitars and vocals, with occasional accompaniment from Mona Lisa Young and Charity White, the Black Crowes' backing-vocals duo, as well as a guest appearance by Tenor Saxophonist Dave Ellis of The Left Coast Horns.
Recorded Live at The Roxy Theatre Los Angeles, Ca 2006. First time on vinyl. Includes download coupon. "Made in the Czech Republic" sticker on back cover. Track A2 incorrectly named "Curved Diamond" on label and cover, and "Birds Of A Feather" printed on spine.
