Description:
Revenge / Centigrade by Robert Calvert, released 3 May 2011.
This version of Revenge / Centigrade comes as a 2xCD. -
Two CD archive release from the former Hawkwind vocalist and lyricist. Revenge was originally a mini album of demos by Peter Pavli (bass player for High Tide) and Calvert added lyrics and vocals. For this reissue, four bonus tracks have been added. Centigrade 232 is basically a spoken word piece originally published in 1977 and recited by Calvert in 1986 and was at the time only available on cassette.
Track 1-5 not listed.
Credits are only given for tracks 1-6 to 1-10 in booklet.
Fascism/Futurism: The bulk of the lyrics are actually from the Futurist Manifesto of 1909.
Bugatti: The final violin solo is a found object from another track, which leaked in during the final mix. It sounded good so we decided to leave it in.
Turn The Tape Over: This was originally a spare track on the b-side of the first cassette version of these songs, and was meant to persuade the listener to turn the tape over for the four songs on the a-side.
Special thanks to Rob Ayling.
