Unterstützt wird der japanische Meisterschlagzeuger von seinem langjährigen Kollegen Fumio Itabashi am Klavier. Auf "Live at Lovelyâ?? sind auÃ?erdem der reguläre Bassist Hideaki Mochizuki und der Tenorsaxophonist Toshihiko Inoue zu hören, die auch auf Moriyamas â??East Plantsâ??-Album zu hören sind, das zuvor in der J Jazz Masterclass Series neu aufgelegt wurde. Highlight: eine atemberaubende Interpretation von Itabashis Klassiker "Wataraseâ??, den sie erstmals 1981 auf Moriyamas "Smileâ??-Album aufgenommen hatten. Itabashi demonstrierte seine Bandbreite als Komponist und schrieb vier der fünf Titel dieses Albums. Die Kommunikation und das Zusammenspiel des Quartetts sind aufschlussreich, jeder Spieler hört genau zu und findet seinen eigenen Raum innerhalb der reich strukturierten Musik. Diese spezielle Doppel-Vinyl-Edition wurde vom Grammy-nominierten Carvery gemastert und ist die erste Neuauflage seit der ursprünglichen CD-Veröffentlichung des Albums nur in Japan im Jahr 1991. -
