THREE MAN ARMY

Three Man Army is a British rock band that was active between 1971 and 1976. The band comprised three talented musicians, namely Adrian Gurvitz on guitar and vocals, his brother Paul Gurvitz on bass and backing vocals, and Tony Newman on drums. The band started as a side project for the Gurvitz brothers, who were already established musicians in the British rock scene, having previously played in the bands Gun and The Bakerloo Blues Line. Three Man Army's music is a unique blend of hard rock, blues, and progressive rock. Their sound was characterized by Adrian's fierce guitar solos, Paul's melodic bass lines, and Tony's powerful drumming. The band's music was raw, heavy, and at times experimental, making it stand out from other bands in the genre. Their music was heavily influenced by bands such as Cream, The Jimi Hendrix Experience, and Led Zeppelin. The band's debut album, "A Third of a Lifetime," was released in 1971. The album was well-received by critics and showcased the band's impressive musicianship. The album featured songs such as "Butter Queen" and "Midnight," which demonstrated the band's ability to create hard-hitting rock songs with catchy melodies. The album also featured some experimental tracks, such as "See What I'm Saying," which showcased the band's willingness to push musical boundaries. Three Man Army's second album, "Three Man Army Two," was released in 1974. The album featured a more polished sound compared to their debut album and included some of their most popular songs, such as "Take Me Down From The Mountain," "Agent Man," and "Don't Wanna Go." The band's third and final album, "Three Man Army Three," was released in 1975. The album featured a more progressive sound, with longer songs and more complex arrangements. The album received mixed reviews from critics and marked the end of Three Man Army's career as a band. Although Three Man Army's career was short-lived, their music has continued to be appreciated by rock fans worldwide. Their influence can be heard in the music of many contemporary rock bands, and their music has been covered by artists such as Metallica and The Black Keys. Despite not achieving mainstream success, Three Man Army is remembered as a band that pushed musical boundaries and created some of the most exciting and innovative rock music of the 1970s.
