Characterised by razor-sharp guitars, urgent tempos and Pete Shelley's instantly recognisable melodic hooks, the record captures a band pushing beyond the rawness of early punk into more sophisticated songwriting. Lyrically, it balances political unease, emotional turmoil and deadpan humour, resulting in a tense but highly catchy listening experience that still sounds contemporary decades later. This CD edition is ideal for both long-time fans who want the album in a durable, collector-friendly format and new listeners discovering one of the key documents of British punk's evolution.
Buzzcocks are one of the most influential bands of the first punk generation, known for fusing high-energy punk with pop-sensibility and concise, hook-laden songwriting. Formed in the UK in the mid-1970s, they became a crucial bridge between raw punk and what would later be called pop-punk and alternative rock. With classic singles and albums that shaped an entire scene, Buzzcocks have influenced countless bands worldwide and remain a reference point for anyone interested in melodic punk.
The CD format offers clear, consistent sound, easy handling and high durability, making it perfect for repeated plays and for collectors who appreciate physical media with detailed artwork and liner notes. Domino Records, the label responsible for this edition, is an independent company known for carefully curated catalogue releases and a strong roster of influential alternative artists. With a reputation for high production standards, thoughtful packaging and respect for the original recordings, Domino delivers versions of classic albums that appeal both to audiophiles and to fans who value authenticity and historical importance. | | | No. of tracks: |
